Who We Are

ASI is an organization of Seventh-day Adventist lay people involved in professions, industry, and services that exists to provide challenge, nurture, and experience in Sharing Christ in the Marketplace as well as support the global mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Our Mission

ASI Mission:  To provide challenge, nurture and experience in Sharing Christ in the Marketplace as well as support the global mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Our Vision

Our Vision:  To be known for our unswerving honesty in business principles and practices, unflagging participation in the various ministries of the Church, unwavering positiveness toward Church leadership, unhesitating provision for the needs of others, and untiring focus on the Christ they represent in the marketplace.

Professionals committed to the Bible.

A word from your Chapter President: Floyd Courtney

The vision of your SW Union Chapter ASI officers is multifaceted. We want to see growth in the number of ASI members and also in the involvement of these members in their organization. There are still many business owners and professionals who could be blessed by, and be a blessing to ASI, who are not members. We would like to encourage associate membership amongst those who are not business owners or professionals. We want to see better networking among the membership and a better knowledge of the resources offered by other members. We want to see the objectives, resources and manner of working of ASI be better known among the pastors and administrators of our churches in the SW Union. We want to affirm our purpose to work shoulder to shoulder with our pastors and other church workers to spread the message of the gospel to the areas of our influence – especially in the workplace. We want them to realize that we are not in competition for offerings, ideas or time but that ASI and the conference are like two sides of a coin, working together. We must have the spiritual leadership of our pastors and other church workers, but there are just not enough of them to do the work. In a church of 100 people there will probably be one pastor. So, although the pastor has a spiritual knowledge and training in spreading the gospel that the other 99 do not have, that pastor does not have the resources of time, influence in the community or financial potential that the 99 have. The vision of the SW chapter of ASI is to connect with the “99” that do not have the spiritual knowledge and training of their pastor and to motivate them to participate with the pastor (and other church leaders) and help with training and providing resources to the entire church so they can work more effectively as a team.

The goal is to give the potential for exposure and networking to all the member ministries and business in our union through the local convention and an upgraded website. Planning is under way to have not only the SW Chapter convention, but a rally in a major city where there has previously been little ASI presence. Plans are also under way for ASI officers to get an opportunity to explain the work, goals and resources of ASI to the pastors and administrators of the various conferences within the SW Union.

As a team. ASI leadership and members with their pastors and administrators, all under the leadership of the Holy Spirit, can have a major impact on the spreading of the gospel in the SW Union.
